Kid Buys 'McLovin' I.D. from Amazon, Gets Busted, Seth Rogan Responds

It's written so well, I'm posting this straight from Mashable, 'The iconic "McLovin" fake ID, cheesy rainbow and all, got a kid arrested.

Daniel Alfredo Burleson, a 20-year-old from Iowa, was arrested on Friday for underage drinking and possession of a fictitious license after police found a fake Hawaiian ID with the name McLovin on it.

It's a reference to the 2007 movieSuperbad —in an effort to lose their virginity before graduating high school, two bumbling teenagers use a fake ID for "McLovin" to buy alcohol for a party. The poorly made Hawaiian driver's license became an icon for fake IDs, and fans can buy recreations on Amazon for as low as $7.

An Iowa City police officer approached the 20-year-old in a bar and asked for his ID, which he refused to provide. Burleson was slurring and held a "beverage containing vodka," theIowa City Press-Citizenreports. When the police took him out of the bar, he showed them his real ID, which showed that he was under 21.

But officers caught a glimpse of his fake Hawaiian ID, which listed McLovin's date of birth as Jun. 3, 1981.

Then the officers — who evidently haven't watchedSuperbad— had a dispatcherrun a searchof the fake ID. Obviously, it failed to turn up a result.

Burleson was charged with public intoxication, possession of alcohol while underage, and possession of a fictitious license, so he's probably Going Through It right now.

At least Seth Rogen, who started writing theSuperbadscript when he was 13 years old, took notice.
