Worldwide, basically... yes. A new study shows that people in general are less content if they have kids. Here in the US, the story is a little different.

"We find that in terms of life evaluation, people with kids and people without kids are not very different," said Arthur Stone of Stony Brook University. "But people with kids have more joys and happiness as well as more negative emotions, like anger, worry and stress."

I feel like I'm back in my shrink's office having her explain that my highs (aka happy times) are higher than more people's and that my low's (aka unhappy times) are lower than most people's. So basically, having children will be like getting off my meds.
