This is a sad story, and no one wins in the end.
Last year, a 12-year-old girl in Florida, Rebecca Ann Sedwick, "committed suicide after being bullied through social media by several girls for nearly a year". Now, a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old have been arrested for felony aggravated stalking that led to the death. All of it allegedly started over a boyfriend.
Last month, CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller reported that the one message that her mother, Tricia Norman, cannot forget urged Rebecca Ann to kill herself.
"'You haven't killed yourself yet,'" Norman recalled the message saying. "'Go jump off of a building.'"
According to a CNN affiliate, the 14-year-old who was arrested posted on her Facebook "Yes IK I bullied REBECCA nd she killed her self but IDGAF." (That translates to "Yes, I know I bullied Rebecca and she killed herself but I don't give a f*ck" for any Olds™ out there who can't read it.) Charming.
What I Do, Job-wise: So. Much. Other than playing on-air every day (and on DO YOU HATE IT? Sunday nights), you might get an e-mail response from me if you write in asking to know the name of a song or whether we're looking for interns. I'm all over the place, like a ninja, but less stealthy.
