Dr. Charles Hankins is a neonatologists practicing at Texas Children's Hospital. He is participating in the Bad Pants Open and this year, it’s on October 9 at the Clubs of Kingwood. They have raised over 3.5 million dollars and while this year's event is practically sold out, you can still participate by donating. The event benefits the Texas Children's Newborn Center and that is the focus of this interview. I was particularly interested in hearing Dr. Hankins’ thoughts on his vocation to help families, the new interpersonal methods of treatments doctors are adopting to treat children while also taking care of their parent’s needs and the extraordinary help our hospitals get from our community: they are in big part funded by private donations. I think the medical center is a measure of what a great city Houston is.
