Shinedown /Jelly Roll Collab On The Way?

Jelly Roll has been able to juggle multiple genres in his musical career. Starting out in hip hop, he morphed into a soulful country singer while at the same time managing to find a comfortable landing place in the rock world as well. And while country music has been where he's been concentrating most of his efforts the last few years, his next collaboration may put him back on the rock side of things.

In an appearance on "The Spout Podcast," Shinedown lead vocalist Brent Smith all but confirmed that a pairing with his band and Jelly may soon see the light of day. "One hundred percent. It might be in the works. I mean, I don’t know. If I say it, it’s probably going to happen," Smith says. "We just have a mutual love for one another and just care so deeply about who he is as an individual and his story." Smith continues, "This man (Jelly Roll) is the real thing on so many different levels. Could not be a more genuine individual. Talented as all get out. I remember when, you know, we brought him out with us in 2022 on tour, there were people that were like, who is, why, like, what is going on here? Who is this? And I’m like, 'Just get ready, man'…I told him (Jelly Roll) too. I said, 'Man you are about to get into the most amazing rocket ship that only you can captain.'" As far as the what and the when of any potential collaboration, that remains a mystery, so we wait and we wonder.

  • In other Jelly Roll news, the singer continues to fulfill his promise to be there for incarcerated youths. Jelly recently helped open a music studio inside the Nashville Juvenile Detention Center, helping fund the studio with a portion of the proceeds from his Bridgestone Arena headlining show last December. Jelly Roll, who spent time in the same Nashville Juvenile Detention Center, performed at the opening event, alongside fellow country artist ERNEST
