"Barbie" Hits $1 Billion At The Global Box Office.

"Barbie" hit $1 billion at the global box office, making Greta Gerwig the first female director to hit this milestone.  She was also surprised by Ryan Gosling with a flash mob of Kens and Barbies for her 40th birthday.

"Barbie" has officially surpassed $1 billion at the global box office.  And with that, Greta Gerwig is now the FIRST solo female director to join the billion-dollar club.

The record for the highest-grossing film solely directed by a woman was previously held by Patty Jenkins with "Wonder Woman" at $821.8 million.

It's worth mentioning there ARE two women in the billion-dollar club, but they are co-directors.  They're Jennifer Lee for "Frozen" ($1.3 billion) and "Frozen 2" ($1.45 billion) and Anna Boden for "Captain Marvel" ($1.1 billion).

In related Greta news, she just celebrated her 40th birthday on Friday . . . so, Ryan Gosling sent her a FLASH MOB of Kens and Barbies to crash her Pilates class and dance for her.
