The Rolling Stones are getting the spotlight as the subject of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 18th annual Music Masters Series. The week of events begins on Monday with a special program for students that will be streamed live at rockhall.com.
"You Got Me Rocking: The Musical Roots of the Rolling Stones" will explore the band's influences, including Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Howlin' Wolf, and look at how the group drew from these artists as they developed their own style.
Other presentations, discussions, and lectures are scheduled throughout the week that delve into the Stones' music and longevity, while some of the band's longtime sidemen will share what it's been like to work with the band over the years.
The series will come to a close with the Annual Music Masters Tribute Concert, featuring Stones sidemen Steve Jordan and Bobby Keys, along with the E Street Band's Nils Lofgren, The Faces' Ian McLagan, Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner, and many others.
The show will take place at Cleveland's State Theater on Saturday. Additional details on all the events are available at rockhall.com.
